England vs South Africa Highlights 2023 Cricket World Cup: South Africa (399/7) beat England (170) by 229 runs in Mumbai

An all-round show by South Africa helped them beat England by 229 runs in ODI 20 of the ongoing World Cup 2023 in Mumbai on Saturday. South Africa batting first piled a massive 399/7 in 50 overs, whereas England could only manage 170/9 in 22 overs as Reece Topley didn't walk out to bat due to injury.

Marco Jansen led South Africa's offensive with the ball after putting on a solid display with the bat. In the massive 400-run chase, he took two wickets and Lungi Ngidi took one as England was down to 24/3. Then, Kagiso Rabada added insult to injury by dismissing Ben Stokes for 5(8). Following the removal of Jos Buttler and Harry Brook in the same over, Gerald Coetzee joined the group. Adil Rashid was removed by Coetzee for 10(14), giving him a third wicket. After packing Willey for a run-a-ball 12, Ngidi announced that England had scored 100 runs.

Earlier, South Africa reached 399/7 in 50 overs thanks to Henrich Klaasen's magnificent century. 109 runs were scored by Klaasen from 67 balls, including 12 fours and 4 sixes. The middle-order batsman needed 61 balls to reach his century. Marco Jansen, meanwhile, scored an undefeated 75 runs off 42 balls. In addition to the pair, opener Reeza Hendricks contributed with a respectable 85(75) before being dismissed by Adil Rashid. Additionally, Rassie van der Dussen reached his half-century, and acting skipper Aiden Markram scored 42 runs in 44 balls.
